SeaWorld Abu Dhabi

Overview

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, which opened its doors on Yas Island as a next-generation marine life theme park, is a massive and immersive complex that offers visitors the chance to explore the fascinating world of the ocean, embark on thrilling adventures, and learn about the importance of marine life conservation. The park, spread across 183,000 square meters of indoor space, is home to more than 100,000 marine animals from over 150 species and features over 15 interactive experiences and rides across eight different themed realms.

The foundation of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is the “One Ocean” philosophy, which tells the story of the interconnectedness of all oceans and life. This central hub serves as an epicenter connecting visitors to the other seven realms and hosts immersive 360-degree media presentations and shows like “One Epic Ocean.” Visitors begin their journey in the “Abu Dhabi Ocean” realm, which showcases the UAE’s pearl-diving heritage and the local marine life of the Gulf. Here, guests can get up close with rays and starfish in touch pools.

One of the park’s most remarkable services is the “Endless Ocean,” the world’s largest multi-species aquarium, home to over 68,000 animals. The “Endless Vista,” a massive 20-meter viewing window, offers visitors a mesmerizing view of the world of sharks, rays, and other marine creatures. The “Tropical Ocean” realm presents a rainforest atmosphere with dancing waterfalls, a lagoon inhabited by dolphins, and colorful tropical birds, while “Rocky Point” features a dynamic habitat for California sea lions and harbor seals, along with an amphitheater for live sea lion presentations. For those wishing to experience the cold climates of the poles, the “Arctic” and “Antarctica” realms house animals such as walruses, sea otters, and various species of penguins.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is more than just an amusement park; it is a significant education and conservation center. Located adjacent to the park, the Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue center is the region’s first dedicated marine research, rescue, rehabilitation, and return facility. Visitors can watch veterinarians and specialists at work in the “Animal Care Center” inside the park and learn about animal care. Additionally, special “Animal Encounters” programs offer closer interactions, including opportunities to meet dolphins, sea turtles, and otters. With adrenaline-pumping rides like the Manta Coaster, the “MicroOcean” area designed for children, 17 different dining options, and 13 retail outlets, the park provides a full-day, comprehensive service for visitors of all ages.
